Rarely does one think of the Napa Valley in the context of sustainability and biodiversity, but thanks to the tireless work of Steve and Jill Matthiasson, this preconceived notion is getting flipped on its head. The Matthiassons are very much the standard bearers of contemporary California winemaking, proving that it is possible to highlight mindful agriculture and viticulture while making incredible wines and empowering their community at large. Their wines have redefined not only what is possible in Napa but in California and in the United States at large. We are incredibly excited to host them at the end of this month for a multimedia and format selection of events, starting with a film and dinner collaboration with our friends at Sala Saneha on Sunday October 25th.
The day will commence with a screening of the “Groundswell” at 4pm at Sala Saneha’s cinema, a documentary that highlights diverse and indigenous voices in the importance of regenerative agriculture and soil health to the state of the world’s ecosystem and farming systems.
Following this we welcome inquisitive drinkers and diners for an interactive session of discussion, dining, and drinking with the Matthiassons hosted in Sala Saneha’s wine bistro space with a shared set menu, a selection of four wines from the Matthiasson family, and continued communal engagement around the importance of harmony between the wine and the land and our relationship to it
The food menu and wine selection can be found below, priced at Thb 1800 net per person and can be booked separately or together with the film screening.
