Mosel Calling: Daniel Twardowski & Mirco Keller Collaborate for an evening of German Gastronomic Excellence

As a proper send off to next week’s long weekend, we’ll be inviting winemaker Daniel Twardowski and a lineup of his incredible Pinots to the tables of Keller next Thursday July 27th. A pairing of sublime, unique, and elevated German wines calls for cuisine that waltzes to the same tempo, thus Berlin-native Mirco Keller brings his suave, German-inspired, contemporary fine dining to help set the tone.

Mr. Twardowski has been making waves for quite some time now, his relentless pursuit and passion for producing Pinot Noir has elevated his wines and their demeanor to somewhat of a cult status. Ever the iconoclast, Daniel’s winemaking seeks not to reproduce or imitate but rather awaken a deeper under-standing of what his project in the Mosel means for the importance of German viticulture and as he calls it, the noble Pinot Noix grape.

Our guests can expect a veritable showcase of what modern German cuisine and winemaking has to offer and innovate, all set across the backdrop of Bangkok’s currently teeming food & wine scene. Keller’s innovative menu will be available with a la carte options alongside a selection of Daniel’s cuvées available by the glass or in the form of three 90ml pour flight set.

Wines that will be featured in the lineup include:

  • Daniel Twardowski Ultra Tradition Brut NV, Mosel, Germany – “The grapes come from our own plots on the Dhroner Hofberg. The young wines of both vintages (15 and 16) spent 12 months in used barriques before undergoing a second fermentation together passed on the bottle. The result is bone dry and finalized without any dosage, hence the name. It’s exciting how this edition differs from the Brut Edition, even if it’s just 2 grams more dosage . Citrus, yellow plum, apple, spicy, with gripping acidity and fine perlage . It’s one of those wines that sticks in your memory for a long time.” – Daniel Twardowski
  • Daniel Twardowski 3rd 2019, Mosel, Germany “Fragrant red-cherry nose with delicate wild-strawberry and herbal notes. Very fine fruit and no less fine tannins that are beautifully matched. Long and filigree finish that has serious depth.” – James Suckling
  • Daniel Twardowski Pinot Noix Ardoise 2018, Mosel, Germany “A very delicate, subtle pinot noir with just a whiff of funk (reduction). For its sleek and cool style, this has impressive concentration and really fine tannins. Expands at the finish like a bandoneon, the tannic power gently building to a serious crescendo.” – James Suckling
