Barrica
Additional Information
The Candela family has been farming grapes in Yecla since 1850, however only began bottling estate wines in 2003. Located above 700 meters, the dry and warm climate has naturally prevented phyloxera from spreading and today a great amount of old un-grafted vines give fruit to the various cuvées at Barahonda. Big difference in day-and-night temperature lets slow ripening grapes, like the Monastrell (aka Mourvedre), gain more concentration of both flavors and color. “A terrific bargain in high-quality red wine from Spain” - Robert Parker
